La Traque is a gravel pit with features such as gravel bars, overhanging tree branches and the odd patch of weed. No long range tackle is required as most of the fishing is done less than 50yards away from the bank.

The fish have received little pressure as this lake has never been open to the public, however a bit of thought will take you a long way into ensuring that the session becomes productive.

Bait application is the key factor, apply on a little and often basis and you can be sure not to kill the swim. Generally little may be considered as 20-30 boilies per rod and no more than a pound of particles. This amount may be renewed at every take or every 12hours if nothing occurs.

Do not expect blinding takes each time, sometimes a slight drop back or tightening of the line is sufficient to indicate a positive take so please ensure that your rod set up is as sensitive as possible.

Although generally speaking the fish are most active at night we have found that the biggest fish get caught during the day, so as to minimise disturbance on the water it is very useful for you to organise the group so as to refresh the baits at the same time. This saves continuous noise on the water during the day and increases you chances of a take.
